I've been journaling for a while. As an extrovert, I always preferred the spoken word to the written word, so transitioning to enjoying journaling was surprising.
As an avid reader, I've really enjoyed reading other peoples' blogs lately. The insights many blogs provide are inspiring and informative; so inspiring that I have decided to join them.
I did not make the decision lightly. It's very scary to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences with strangers. I'm scared of the backlash - what if people don't like what I write or misinterpret my intentions. I'm excited that my words may inform or inspire people as I have been informed and inspired.
Ultimately, I have decided that my blog will be about staying true to my own personal intent. I want to share the experiences, both good and bad, that have shaped my life and career. Every post will carry with it some lesson I have learned, either about leadership or the power of coaching. I will make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. I've already made mistakes and I've only just begun.
Know one thing: I am being authentic.
I'm excited. I'm learning new things and growing. But more than anything, I'm scared. But I know that great leaders push through their fears to accomplish great things. What fears do you need to face in order to be great?
